Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accused of engaging in pretending: ‘No one wants to see victims anymore’…

Actor and filmmaker Justine Bateman has taken aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accusing them of turning victimhood into a strategy for financial success.

In a recent Substack post titled “The Problem With Meghan Markle: It’s Not What She’s Doing, It’s the Victim Olympics Road She Took to Get There,” Bateman criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for what she called their “aggressive Victim Olympics campaign.”

Bateman, 59, argued that while Meghan and Harry initially gained public sympathy after stepping back from royal duties in 2020, that approach is no longer effective.

“It’s 2025, and no one wants to see victims anymore,” she wrote.

“No one wants to watch someone playact at something they didn’t earn. No one wants to go along with another’s ‘narrative’ anymore.”

To emphasize her point, Bateman even created a mock gold medal labeled “Victim Olympics.”

She referenced some of the couple’s most controversial claims, including accusations that a royal family member questioned their son’s skin color and that they weren’t properly protected from negative media narratives.

Success fueled by victimhood?
Bateman claimed that Meghan and Harry’s lucrative media deals-including a $100 million Netflix contract, a reported $20 million four-book deal with Penguin Random House, and Markle’s now-defunct $20 million Spotify agreement-were not earned on merit.

“The book deal was not because Harry is an incredible writer, the Spotify deal was not because either of them are beautiful orators or fascinating interviewers, and the Netflix deal was not because they are notable showrunners or producers,” she wrote.

“These were simply the spoils of them crying out to anyone who would listen about the ‘injuries’ they had sustained.”

According to Bateman, the public is growing tired of the couple’s contradictions, particularly their complaints about privacy while maintaining a high-profile presence.

“The public doesn’t want to listen to people who bemoaned their lack of privacy, and yet take every opportunity to be extremely public with whatever they’re doing,” she said.

She also pointed out their continued use of royal titles despite cutting ties with the monarchy.
“They hated the Royal Family so much that they burned the bridge between them to ashes, only to ferociously cling to the titles they had as former members of that Royal Family.”

Bateman concluded by urging Meghan and Harry to take time away from the spotlight and focus on personal growth.
